Finding the perfect wedding dress is a big deal.
And the search to find it is a much anticipated pre-wedding activity that the whole bridal party looks forward to.
But to save some dosh – would you consider swapping bridal boutiques for the high street shops?
According to hitched.co.uk, an average of £1,313 was splashed out on the dream wedding dress in 2019.
But as high street clothing brands expand their lines – shoppers can now purchase wedding dresses from as little as £30.
Popular stores including Dorothy Perkins, H&M, Oasis, Next and Monsoon are currently offering collections for budget-conscious brides.
The collections showcase dresses in an eclectic range of styles from lace fish-tails and traditional A-lines to vintage-inspired bardot midis and satin knee-lengths.
And one fashion-forward brand is also offering a white wedding playsuit.
Here’s our round up of high street wedding dresses you can purchase for £500 and under.
UK-based fashion retailer Dorothy Perkins has launched its debut bridal collection.
The brand boasts luxury fabrics including lace, tulle, satin and chiffon – many with embroidery and beading details.
Shoppers can choose from its 24-piece wedding collection – featuring 23 bridal gowns in styles from traditional A-line dresses to playful bardot midis – and a short, white bridal veil with satin trim for £30.
Dresses currently start from £30 for a white embroidered bardot midi dress to £150 for a bridal maxi dress.
The newest additions to the collection include the Bridal Emilia Maxi Dress – a pleated bodice maxi dress with satin waist band- for £79.
The White Bridal Faith Tulle Midi Dress – featuring a sweet heart bodice – is also priced at £79.
And the Bridal Camilla Cowl Back Maxi Dress which is a lace sleeve, slash neck maxi dress with a cowl back detail, is priced at £99.
These wedding dresses come in sizes ranging from 6 to 18.

High street giant H&M is currently offering a small collection of five white wedding dresses ranging from £59.99 to £199.99.
Each dress takes on a different style from a long-sleeved lace gown to a knee-length v-neck with adjustable spaghetti shoulder straps.
The cheapest dress in the range is the summery knee-length wedding dress made from sturdy satin, which is priced at £59.99.
Shoppers can also buy a capped sleeve lace wedding dress for £139.99 (down to £84) and a long-sleeved lace wedding dress for £149.99.
The tulle wedding dress – with wrap-over bodice and shoulder straps with decorative knots and a flared skirt – can be purchased for £139.99.
And H&M’s ‘wedding dress’ – priced at £199.99 – comes in cream and features a concealed zip on one side, a seam at the waist and a flared circular skirt.

British high-street fashion brand Oasis has been running for almost three decades.
The brand offers brides a fashion-forward Wedding Boutique showcasing five signature wedding dresses – each inspired by a distinctive style.
The least expensive dress in the line-up is The true Classic Bardot Wedding Dress with fishtail hem and button back fasting – available for £200.
The Beautiful Boho Cowl Wedding Dress is the second cheapest dress in the range – at £230 – with eyelash lace, scallop hem, a side split, lace ladder inserts and a side zip fastening.
The New Vintage Pleated Wedding Dress – priced at £250 – is a vintage-inspired gown with lace sleeves, a pleated maxi skirt and an open back.
Reaching the more expensive end of the collection, shoppers will find The Luxe Lace Fishtail Wedding Dress costing £280.
This dress has a bardot neckline, covered button back fasting, short lace sleeves and a traditional full train and fishtail hem.
The most expensive dress in the range, coming in at £300, is the Modern Romantic Embroidered Wedding Dress in embroidered tulle with a v-neck front and back and back zip fastening.

High-street giant Next also offers a range of bridal dresses, currently ranging from £135 to £290.
Next’s Ivory Strapless Lace Dress pictured above (left) costs £240 and is designed with a simple sheath layered underneath an outer layer of dramatic white floral lace.
And the Ivory Crochet Lace Bridal Dress (pictured middle) is a bohemian-inspired floor length gown featuring hand-placed lace and 100pc silk lining priced at £290.
The store also offers wedding dresses from sister label Lipsy, Sistaglam, Maya and Dolly & Delicious.
The dress pictured on the right is a cami sequin bridal dress from Maya priced at £150.

Fashion retailer Monsoon boasts a bridal collection inspired by tales of modern romance.
Designed in London, the latest collection of wedding dresses showcases an eclectic range of styles including vintage, bohemian and contemporary.
The 34-piece line – which is available online – currently ranges from £89 (down from £299) for the Lottie Maxi Bridal Dress to £499 for the Elizabeth Embellished Wedding Dress.
And for those planning to avoid tradition, the collection also includes the Diana Bridal Embellished Halter Jumpsuit for £299.

There are ways to save even more when purchasing a wedding dress from the high-street.
Try on the dress you like in-store then – if the dress is available to buy online – order online via a laptop of computer.
It’s likely that there will be discount codes for the high street shops floating around the internet.
Online discount finders – like Honey – can be downloaded as an extension to your web browser for free.
It will then automatically scour the internet for discount codes – and if any codes are found – it will apply them to your basket at the checkout.
